Chapter 1325 – Dong Xuebing is back
Next day.
Before 11 am.
Qing Xi Province airport lobby.
Dong Xuebing got off the plane and went to get his luggage. He left the airport and looked at the clear blue sky outside. He inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly. The air is fresh, and the sky looks high. The environment is much better than Beijing’s. He started to miss Zhen Shui County after leaving for one way. Although this place is impoverished, the people here are nice. Most people would like to escape the bustling city life for a few days.
I am back.
It felt like he had been away for a long time.
Dong Xuebing lit a cigarette and looked around.
“Xuebing!” Someone called him suddenly.
Dong Xuebing turned and saw Yao Cui. He waved. “Cui Er.”
Yao Cui wore a light-colored flowery dress and a pair of oversized sunglasses. Dong Xuebing almost could not recognize her. Her dress was fashionable, especially with the sunglasses.
“How is your injury?”
“I am almost healed. Haha…”
“So fast? Are you sure?”
“My recovery ability is good. Where is the car?”
“Ah, come with me. I will help with the luggage.”
“No need. It’s heavy. I will carry it myself.”
“I know it’s heavy. That’s why I offered to help. You still have not recovered.”
“It’s fine. Hurry and lead the way.”
A black Land Rover was parked in front. It had been repaired and repainted. It was damaged during Deputy Party Secretary Zhang’s son’s wedding. Villagers also damaged it when he returned to Zhen Shui County from the City. Everything was repaired. Dong Xuebing nodded as Yao Cui loaded the luggage in the back seats. He opened the front passenger door for him before going to the driver seat.
Inside the car.
Yao Cui smiled and gave a bank card to Dong Xuebing. “I repaired the car for you with the card you left with me. It was expensive, and I did not touch the rest. Here.”
Dong Xuebing kept the card. “Thanks.”
Before he returned to Beijing, he left his car with Yao Cui and asked her to send it for repairs.
Yao Cui looked at Dong Xuebing. “Do you know how difficult it is to repair your car? Our County has a few motor repair shops, but they refused to repair it when they saw a Land Rover. I had to drive to the Land Rover authorized dealer in the Provincial City. They had to fly in the spare parts from overseas. It’s so troublesome.”
Dong Xuebing laughed. “Sorry to trouble you. You can get a staff to do it.”
Yao Cui laughed. “This is a mission given to me by our great Mayor Dong. How can I pass the job to others? You might penalize me.”
Dong Xuebing joked. “Now you mention it, I might do it.”
Yao Cui gasped. “I ran everywhere to repair your car, and you want to penalize me?”
Dong Xuebing turned and opened a luggage in the backseat. He took out a shoebox and passed it to her. “This is for you. Do you like it?”
Yao Cui cheered. “It’s for me?”
“Yes. But I don’t know if I got the correct size.” Dong Xuebing replied.
The box looked exquisite, and the brand was in English. Yao Cui gasped. “Manolo Blahnik!”
Dong Xuebing replied. “I think so. I don’t know about ladies’ brands.”
Yao Cui quickly said. “This is one of the top brands. It’s expensive.”
Dong Xuebing laughed. “It’s nothing. I saw it when I passed a mall and felt it suits you. That’s why I bought it. Try them on.”
“Ah, this is too expensive.”
“It’s not easy for me to return. I must get something for my former classmate. Just accept it.”
“But…”
“I will give it to someone else if you don’t want it.”
“You said you are giving them to me!”
Yao Cui laughed and opened the box. It was a pair of green heels.
“Do you like it?”
It’s beautiful.”
“I’m glad you like it.”
“Let me try them on.”
Yao Cui removed her white heels and picked up the jade-green heels carefully. She slipped her feet in slowly.
Dong Xuebing peeped, but her dress was too long. He could not see her legs but managed to see her down blouse. It was a spaghetti dress, and the material was soft. He saw a deep cleavage when she bent to put on the heels. Her breasts were not as full as Jiang Fangfang or Xu Yan, but they were still seducing.
When Dong Xuebing was about to see her bra, Yao Cui looked up. He quickly turned away.
“How is it, Xuebing?” Yao Cui lifted a leg.
Dong Xuebing looked at her feet. “Not bad. I know it will suit you, especially your dress today. You look good in green.”
Yao Cui nodded. “I think so too. It’s beautiful.”
Dong Xuebing asked. “Is the size right?”
“Yes. It’s just nice.” Yao Cui stepped on the floorboard lightly.
“I’m glad I bought them for you. Keep them on.” Dong Xuebing said.
Yao Cui blinked and said. “Are they too bright? People might gossip if I wear them to work.”
Dong Xuebing replied. “It’s fine for a girl to wear them. It would be weird if I wear them.”
“Ok. I will wear them.” Yao Cui does not want to take them off. She kept her shoes in the box and said. “I shall accept them. Thank you, Xuebing. You are so good to me.”
Dong Xuebing noticed Yao Cui’s heels were chipped and the heels were worn off. Zhen Shui County’s economic conditions were too poor. A pair of heels are not cheap for most families here. Yao Cui’s family is not well off, so he thought of getting her a gift. She likes fashion, but there are no malls here.
“Haha… don’t mention it. I wonder how many guys will fall for you when you go to work now.” Heels are essential for women, and Yao Cui is more attractive than usual.
Yao Cui was slightly embarrassed. “Stop looking.”
Dong Xuebing looked at her and started digging into his luggage. He took out a small box. “Your sunglasses do not suit your dress. Here, change to this pair of green sunglasses.”
Yao Cui tried to reject him. “I cannot accept any more gifts.”
Dong Xuebing replied. “I bought them for you. Hurry, put them on.”
Dong Xuebing did not buy this pair of sunglasses for her. But he felt it suited her and gave it to her. Anyway, he bought them as gifts for others.
“How much does this pair of sunglasses cost?”
“Not much. Just wear them.”
“You will not get anything cheap. It should be a few thousand or over ten thousand RMB. Anyway, the shoes cost tens of thousands of RMB. I saw them in Beijing’s mall.” Yao Cui knew Dong Xuebing would not buy anything cheap.
She refused to accept them but gave in after some persuasion. She looked better in green sunglasses, and the design was trendier. Yao Cui adjusted the rear-view mirror to look at herself. She likes them very much. “I tried to refuse… but I don’t want to take them off now. It’s beautiful. Xuebing… I will keep them. Thank you.”
“That’s great.”
“How do I look?”
Dong Xuebing nodded and praised. “Beautiful. I think they are tailor-made for you. Don’t take them off, too. Let’s go.”
Yao Cui nodded and asked. “Where are we going?”
“When is the Party Committee meeting?”
“Tomorrow morning, 10 am.”
“Then there’s no rush. Let’s get something to eat. I am hungry.”
“Sure… Haha… I will treat you to lunch. Although I cannot afford expensive places, let me treat you. What do you want to eat?”
“I am fine with anything. You decide.”
In a restaurant.
Yao Cui updated Dong Xuebing about the County over lunch. Although they had called each other in the past month several times, Dong Xuebing did not ask about the details.
Dong Xuebing put some food onto her plate. “You worked hard these few days. You have to take care of everything when I am not around. You must be exhausted.”
Yao Cui smiled. “I’m fine. This is a good training for myself. Moreover, you will be more tired than me. You must be prepared.”
Dong Xuebing asked. “Why?”
Yao Cui explained. “Many people had been coming to our Finance Department to ask for money. They know you were injured and resting. That’s why they did not contact you. I am guessing they will block our entrance when they know you are back. Our County has been poor for too long. Everyone is eyeing the 50 million RMB fund. We have more than a dozen villages and towns under our County, and every department in the County government lacks funds. After repaying our debts, we only got slightly over 40 million RMB, and everybody wants a share of it.”
