The room was quiet.
“Ah, it’s 6 pm.” Dong Xuebing let go of her and stood up. “I will prepare dinner.”
Xu Yan got up and followed him. “Let’s cook dinner together. You cooked yesterday, and I should let you try my cooking today.”
“Sure. Haha… I will be your assistant today.” Dong Xuebing started unbuttoning his shirt. “Wait for me. I need to change out of my new clothes in case it got dirty.”
Xu Yan smiled when she saw Dong Xuebing treated those clothes like treasures.

They entered the kitchen.
Xu Yan washed the vegetables while Dong Xuebing cut them. They looked like a couple.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you.” The ingredients were prepared, and the stove was lit. Xu Yan started pouring oil into the wok.
Dong Xuebing turned to her. “What is it?”
Xu Yan said. “I told you I had lunch with Minister Lui this afternoon.”
“Oh yes. I forgot to ask you about it. Why did he invite you to have lunch? He and you should not be close.” Dong Xuebing was wary. He blinked and asked. “Is he interested in you?” Although he asked Sister Xu to look for a partner, he is possessive. “He is too old for you.”
Xu Yan was amused. “What are you thinking?”
“Then what is it about?” Dong Xuebing passed the vegetables to her.
The wok was heated, and Xu Yan put in the spring onions and gingers. “Minister Lui had a lunch banquet, and I was not the only one invited. More than a dozen people were there. I didn’t know them well and did not join their conversation. After lunch, Minister Lui spoke to me alone. He asked if I knew what happened to your provincial’s State Security Bureau.
